16:2 | Fear

This issue explores various representations of fear, considered by some to be the most destructive of human emotions. From fears of loss, physical pain, death, or a visit to the doctor, fear has its way of worming into our hearts and minds. What emerges is an experience of fear as something both real and imagined, ephemeral and chemical, making for a visceral, relatable, and at times, a gut-churning read.

Including poetry by Nicole BrossardSarah Yi-Mei Tsiang, Carolyn Marie SouaidRoberta Senechal de la Roche and more; an interview with the owners of Montreal’s iconic bookstore, The Word; reviews of Eleni Zisimatos’ Nearly TerminalArmand Garnet Ruffo’s Treaty #Hugh Thomas’ MazeDina del Bucchia’s It’s A Big Deal!; and poetry by the winner of the 2019 Vallum Chapbook Award, Alexei Perry Cox, and finalists Jan Jorgensen and Jay Kidd.
