A LOOK BACK
Cradling the top-tasting gin-soaked ice
the lines between whispers
against neighbourhood regulations—
Obscure the view
Our thoughts have
trouble living next to poetry
careen from pillow down to city sidewalk
the sun the air the stillness ………………….. is
still …………………………….. consumes chews cuts
holds complaints dear
