Darian Razdar | NEST

Listen,
there are five things here:
……………The Sky
……………This Home
……………Birdsongs
……………Us
……………and Patience

It is said that ravens
fly to mountaintops
not for the view
but for a rush.
Thermals shoot up
unseen towers and
those black birds
become gods
without even trying.

In this house
there are no
ravens, there is little wind
to speak of
yet
there is everything
left for me
—for mornings—
as I listen for Birdsongs
outside my window
in my sleep
unsuccessfully.
